Tank Data Acquisition and Inventory Management Systems
In the early 1980s, Varec introduced the System IV, V and VI for use on IBM compatible personal computers. The architecture was designed for large or small terminal applications. In addition to detailed tank inventory, the system allowed pump and valve control for product movement operations. As the application required, each computer could expand and utilized up to 15 Data Acquisition Processors connected to a central 16-bit microprocessor. Up to six, 19-inch color terminals could be supported, along with host communications, a systems printer and system data logger. Each terminal could be independently operated to display real-time graphics or tank details, tank groups, alarms or reports.
