In the early 1950's, Varec engineers pioneered the use of telecommunications in the oil & gas industry to develop pulse code systems for bulk liquid inventory management. By the late 1970's, when Varec introduced the first 8-bit Master Terminal Unit (MTU-77) system, the company was considered a consistent leader in the field. Through the 1980s Varec continued to develop systems software in line with the rapid development of computer systems. "System VI" and its predecessor"System IV" provided low cost, high performance solutions to tank gauging problems.
For the hundreds of users with the MTU-77, System VI, V or IV, upgrading to TankView was simple and straight forward. Today, we still encounter working installations of TankView® and the reliable Tank Scanning Units (TSU). If you currently own or operate one of these systems, contact Varec today to see how far we have come and ask about a FuelsManager® demonstration or product tour.
